NEW: Israel Caves To Trump, Halts Strikes On Iran After President’s Demand

Israel reportedly agreed to halt its strikes on Iran Monday after President Donald Trump demanded that all sides stop “shooting” following a dangerous weekend of missile fire that threatened to blow up his ceasefire push.

The move came after Iran and Israel exchanged attacks late Sunday night, rattling the region and raising fresh doubts about whether peace talks could survive the latest round of hostilities.

Iran launched missiles into Israel after the Israel Defense Forces carried out strikes against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon over the weekend.

Israel then retaliated with strikes on Tehran, targeting military infrastructure and missile-production facilities.

Trump responded by demanding that both Iran and Israel stop the fighting.

By Monday, Israel had decided to stop its attacks on Iran after Tehran announced its own end to hostilities, according to Reuters.

Israeli media also reported that Israel would continue strikes on Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon in the coming days, citing a senior Israeli official.

The decision marked a major moment for Donald Trump, who has been pushing to keep the conflict from spiraling into a wider regional war.

Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya military headquarters announced Monday that it would end hostilities against Israel just minutes after Trump demanded a ceasefire.

But Tehran made clear the pause came with a warning.

Iran’s military said the ceasefire was conditional on Israel also halting its attacks and threatened to restart “severe and crushing” operations if the fighting continued.

“Following the aggressions and evils of the brutal Zionist regime in South Lebanon and the Dahiya region, which took place with the support of the criminal America, the powerful armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran gave a painful response to this regime in order to support the oppressed people of Lebanon,” the military wrote in a statement.

“On this basis, the cessation of armed forces operations is announced; But it is emphasized that if the aggressions and evils continue, including in the south of Lebanon, much more severe and crushing measures will be on the way,” it continued.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also said Monday that Tehran had not abandoned diplomacy, even after the weekend’s strikes.

Pezeshkian said Iran remained committed to coming out of the conflict “triumphant,” whether through “diplomacy or defense.”

“Our priority is national security and the peace of our people. We will defend the rights of the nation with authority and will not retreat in the face of any threat. Diplomacy and defense are the two wings of national power; we have neither abandoned the field nor the negotiating table. God willing, with unity and rationality, Iran will emerge triumphant from this trial as well,” Pezeshkian wrote in a post on X.

The ceasefire scramble came as Israeli forces launched airstrikes in southern Lebanon on Monday shortly after Iran announced it was halting attacks on Israel.

Sirens were activated in northern Israel amid the strikes on Lebanon.

Iran had warned that it would renew attacks if Israel did not stop its own operations.

The latest escalation began after Israel struck Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, prompting Iran to fire missiles toward Israel. Israel then answered with strikes inside Tehran.

The conflict also unfolded as reports of student-led protests inside Iran gained attention.

Cameron Khansarinia, chief of staff to Reza Pahlavi, told “Fox & Friends” that Iranians are pushing back against the regime and need internet access to keep organizing.

Khansarinia said the Iranian people have suffered under the country’s radical Islamist leadership and are still fighting for freedom.

For Trump, the latest developments offered both a test and a potential win.

Iran’s attacks had threatened to shatter the ceasefire effort, while Israel’s retaliatory strikes risked pulling the region deeper into chaos.

But after Trump demanded an end to the shooting, both sides moved toward at least a temporary pause.

Israel’s reported decision to halt attacks on Iran does not mean the broader fight is over, especially with Israeli operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon expected to continue.

Still, the move showed Trump forcing the pace after another explosive round of Middle East violence.

For now, the guns may be quieter between Israel and Iran. But with Iran threatening to restart attacks and Israel continuing to target Hezbollah, the ceasefire remains fragile.
