IDF Strikes 15 Hezbollah Sites As Weapons Facilities Dismantled

Israel’s military campaign against Hezbollah has ramped up, with the Israel Defense Forces confirming a new wave of targeted strikes across Lebanon. The latest operation hit roughly 15 Hezbollah-linked sites, part of a push to dismantle weapons production and storage tied to the Iran-backed group.

The IDF said Monday that troops uncovered explosive devices and anti-tank missiles inside a Hezbollah weapons facility as operations continued.

“IDF troops inside a Hezbollah weapons storage facility prior to its dismantling, where dozens of explosive devices and anti-tank missiles were located,” the IDF said in a post shared on X.

“In addition, several weapons storage facilities were dismantled, and about 15 Hezbollah infrastructure sites were struck,” the force added.

In a separate update, the IDF said the 226th Brigade dismantled a roughly 30-meter tunnel used by Hezbollah to “advance attacks against IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians.”

“Over the past 24 hours, IDF soldiers of the 146th Division struck approximately 15 infrastructure sites,” the statement said.

According to Israeli officials, the strikes focused on infrastructure supporting Hezbollah’s military operations, including weapons depots, rocket launch sites, and facilities used to manufacture or store advanced munitions. The campaign is part of a strategy to weaken Hezbollah’s capabilities following continued drone and rocket attacks on Israeli forces and territory.

The escalation comes amid a fragile ceasefire along the Israel-Lebanon border that has been repeatedly violated. In recent days, Hezbollah has launched rockets and explosive drones at Israeli troops in southern Lebanon, triggering swift retaliation from Israeli air and ground forces.

Israeli officials say the latest attacks show Hezbollah still has the ability to regroup and threaten northern Israel despite sustained military pressure.

The strikes are part of a larger, ongoing effort. Israeli officials have previously said they’ve dismantled hundreds, and in some cases more than a thousand, Hezbollah infrastructure sites since the conflict reignited earlier this year. Many of these sites contain a mix of conventional and advanced weaponry, including anti-tank missiles, explosives, and drone components, often embedded within civilian areas.

The current phase of operations combines airstrikes with ground missions, with troops uncovering hidden weapons caches and demolishing underground compounds believed to serve as command centers or storage hubs.

The conflict has intensified significantly since early this year, when Hezbollah resumed large-scale attacks following earlier regional tensions involving Iran. Israel responded with a sustained offensive across southern Lebanon, the Beqaa Valley, and parts of Beirut, aiming to push Hezbollah forces away from the border.

Despite the pressure, Hezbollah has adapted. The group has increasingly relied on drone technology, including fiber-optic-guided drones that are difficult to intercept. These have proven capable of penetrating Israeli defenses and inflicting casualties, raising concerns within the IDF about evolving threats.

Israeli leaders have made clear operations will continue as long as Hezbollah maintains a presence near the border and keeps launching attacks. Defense officials argue that dismantling infrastructure like weapons factories and launch sites is key to preventing future strikes on Israeli population centers.

At the same time, the humanitarian toll is growing. Large parts of southern Lebanon have been heavily damaged, with villages reduced to rubble in areas Israel says were used as Hezbollah strongholds. Hundreds of thousands of civilians have been displaced, complicating efforts to stabilize the region.

International pressure is building for a lasting ceasefire, but talks remain stalled. Hezbollah has rejected calls to disarm, while Israel insists it will not stop until the threat along its northern border is eliminated.
