Russian bodybuilder and stuntman Sergey Boytsov is making headlines after claiming to have set a world record for completing gymnastic maneuvers beneath a hot air balloon at an altitude of 1,500 meters (nearly 5,000 feet) — all without a parachute.
The 30-year-old thrill-seeker says he performed the stunt with no safety harness, parachute, or insurance, meaning any mistake would have likely resulted in a fatal fall.
“There was no insurance. If something had gone wrong, that would’ve been the end,” Boytsov reportedly stated after the attempt.
According to Boytsov, this marks the first time in history that gymnastic turns have been successfully executed at such an altitude without any safety equipment. While video footage and official verification are still pending from international record authorities, Boytsov’s stunt has already drawn attention across social media and Russian news outlets.
Originally from Russia, Boytsov is known for combining physical strength and extreme risk in his performances. His latest feat underscores the growing trend of adrenaline-fueled challenges taken to new, often dangerous heights.
