VIDEO: FBI Raids Offices Of Top Democrat, Makes Multiple Arrests

The FBI raided the office of a powerful Virginia Democratic lawmaker Wednesday as part of a federal corruption and illegal marijuana sales probe, and multiple arrests were made across a string of searches in the state, Fox News has learned.

State Sen. L. Louise Lucas, the Senate president pro tempore and a major power broker in Virginia politics, is at the center of the investigation, according to federal law enforcement sources. Lucas campaigned for Gov. Abigail Spanberger during the 2025 trail and is considered a key ally of the governor.

Agents executed court-authorized criminal search warrants at Lucas’ office in Portsmouth, federal law enforcement sources said. At the same time, agents searched a nearby cannabis dispensary that sources said is co-owned by Lucas.

Lucas arrived at her office while the raid was underway and told Fox News she did not know why agents were there.

“I Don’t know what’s going on!” Lucas said.

Federal law enforcement sources said the warrants were signed by a federal judge, who found probable cause for the searches.

The raids add political pressure on Spanberger, who has faced criticism from opponents over her agenda in a state that has long been viewed as competitive statewide.

Lucas is not new to controversy. She has co-owned a cannabis shop in Portsmouth that drew scrutiny after reporting raised questions about whether some products were mislabeled or exceeded legal THC limits, triggering regulatory concerns under Virginia law.

Fox News Digital reached out to Lucas and Spanberger for comment.
