NEW: Bahrain Makes Dozens Of Arrests Over Alleged Links To Iran’s IRGC

Bahrain’s Interior Ministry announced Saturday that security authorities had arrested 41 individuals linked to a group associated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The ministry described the detainees as the core members of the organization’s main structure in Bahrain

According to the ministry’s statement, the arrests resulted from intelligence operations and investigations conducted by public prosecutors. These probes addressed cases of espionage involving foreign entities and expressions of support for Iranian aggression, according to a report from state media outlet BNA.

The group was also linked to the ideology of Velayat-e Faqih, or Guardianship of the Jurist. Investigations indicated that the organization maintained connections to the IRGC, including activities such as the collection of funds intended for transfer to Iran to support IRGC operations.

The ministry reported that security services uncovered the group through ongoing intelligence gathering tied to earlier cases of alleged espionage and sympathy with Iranian attacks. Legal proceedings against the 41 individuals are underway, and authorities stated that search and investigation operations would continue against anyone found to be involved in the group’s activities or related violations of the law.

No further details on specific charges against individual detainees, their identities, or court proceedings have been released publicly as of this report.

Earlier in 2026, Bahraini authorities carried out related actions, including the arrest of five individuals in March for allegedly collecting and passing sensitive information to the IRGC, as well as the revocation of citizenship from dozens of people convicted of communicating with foreign entities and expressing support for Iranian attacks.

Bahrain has been targeted by multiple missile and drone attacks throughout the 2026 regional conflict that began with U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28. Iranian retaliatory operations struck locations in Bahrain, including areas near the U.S. naval base in Manama and Juffair, as well as other infrastructure and residential sites.

Bahraini air defenses intercepted hundreds of projectiles over subsequent weeks, with the last attack on the nation’s territory reported on April 8, when an ongoing ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran was reached.
