A woman known online as “DeesKnots” filmed herself making and then stabbing dolls modeled after President Donald Trump and Senator J.D. Vance, the videos reaching around 70,000 followers on TikTok. The user, who identifies with she/her pronouns, described the act as “a little stress relief” in her captions.

The videos sparked immediate backlash—critics denounced the imagery as violent and inappropriate, suggesting they exemplify growing intolerance and tension within political discourse. Some experts contend that while performance art or satire has a place, the use of potentially threatening symbols warrants scrutiny and concern.

[This post contains video, click to play]

In conjunction with these disturbing clips, broader demographic data has emerged highlighting significant mental health trends. A 2020 Pew Research Center survey revealed that 56% of young white women (ages 18–29) who identify as liberal report having received a mental health diagnosis from a medical professional.

While it is impossible to draw direct causality between political ideology and mental health conditions, observers note that increased awareness and access to care—particularly among liberal-leaning young women—is likely contributing to higher diagnosis rates.

The data may reflect both greater openness in seeking help and a willingness to seek care, rather than suggesting that liberalism itself is harmful .

“56% of white liberal women between 18 and 29 reported a mental health diagnosis” contrasts sharply with significantly lower rates among both conservative and moderate white women of the same age group.

Experts caution interpreting the figures, noting differences in healthcare access, cultural attitudes toward mental health, and patterns of self-reporting.

While the TikTok videos reflect one individual’s approach to handling stress, the broader data highlights ongoing conversations about mental health, political identity, and social behavior.

The intersection of viral content and serious national trends underscores a complex cultural moment—where digital expression, political division, and mental well-being collide.

President Donald J. Trump has signed an executive order directing the Department of the Interior to raise entrance fees for non‑U.S. visitors to national parks, asserting that it is part of his administration’s “America First” policy.

Announced at a rally in Iowa, the order stipulates that foreigners will pay higher rates while American citizens continue to benefit from current, lower fees and receive priority access to permits and reservations.

The White House issued a fact sheet stating that the additional revenue from foreign tourists will generate “hundreds of millions” of dollars annually. Those funds will be earmarked for restoring aging infrastructure, reducing the National Park Service’s maintenance backlog, and improving visitor services.

The Department of the Interior estimates a potential $90 million per year in additional income to support these efforts.

According to the order, foreign visitors, who do not pay U.S. taxes, will shoulder a larger share of costs related to park preservation.

While details on the fee increase and implementation timeline have not been released, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum indicated that a draft fee schedule would be published later this summer, with changes unlikely to take effect before 2026.

However, the policy comes amid significant budget cuts to the National Park Service, including more than $1 billion removed from its fiscal 2026 budget—a reduction of nearly 40 percent.

Combined with a 24 percent decline in permanent staff and persistent shortages in seasonal workers, critics warn that fee hikes alone may not address the deep operational challenges facing the parks.

Supporters of the plan, including conservative think tanks, note that differential pricing based on visitor origin is common internationally.

For example, Ecuador’s Galápagos National Park charges foreigners significantly more than residents. Proponents argue the model could stabilize funding without overburdening American taxpayer.

Conservation groups and tourism industry representatives, however, fear that higher costs may deter foreign visitors, harming businesses in gateway communities.

[This post contains video, click to play]

The Natural Resources Defense Council and National Parks Conservation Association emphasized that comprehensive funding and staffing solutions are necessary to preserve public land stewardship.

This initiative coincides with the launch of the “Make America Beautiful Again” commission, aimed at advancing park conservation and public access. President Trump framed the move as building on his legacy from the Great American Outdoors Act while placing American families at the forefront of policy.

Paramount Global, the parent company of CBS News, has reached a $16 million settlement with President Donald J. Trump over alleged deceptive editing of a “60 Minutes” interview with then–Vice President Kamala Harris.

[This post contains video, click to play]

The agreement resolves a lawsuit filed by Trump during the 2024 presidential campaign, in which he claimed the network manipulated Harris’s remarks to favor her candidacy and damage his electoral standing. The settlement explicitly allocates funds to Trump’s presidential library and includes no public apology from Paramount.

Trump’s lawsuit centered on an October 2024 segment in which Harris’s answer about Israel was split into two different versions—one aired on “Face the Nation” and the other on “60 Minutes.” Trump alleged the edits misleadingly portrayed Harris as more coherent and polished.

Paramount disputed the claim, stating the edits were made for time constraints, not to mislead, and released internal footage and transcripts to support their editorial decisions.

This settlement follows similar cases in which major media companies settled with Trump. In December, ABC News paid $16 million over a defamatory statement regarding his legal history, and Meta agreed to pay $25 million earlier this year in a separate dispute . Collectively, these agreements have contributed substantial funds to Trump’s presidential library.

As part of the deal, Paramount also committed to releasing transcripts of future “60 Minutes” interviews with presidential candidates—subject to necessary redactions—an initiative aimed at increasing transparency.

The settlement comes at a critical time, coinciding with Paramount’s proposed merger with Skydance Media, and may influence regulatory review.

Critics, including journalism advocates and free-speech organizations, have condemned the settlement, warning it sets a dangerous precedent for editorial independence and encourages politically motivated litigation. U.S. senators have echoed these concerns, cautioning that such cases threaten First Amendment protections and could force news outlets into self-cen

Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced today that the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has officially ceased all operations, as part of a sweeping foreign aid restructuring ordered by President Donald J. Trump.

Rubio confirmed that all remaining USAID foreign assistance programs will be transferred to the State Department, under a new “America First” foreign policy framework.

Rubio stated that USAID had become inefficient, misaligned with national interests, and riddled with bureaucracy.

“As of July 1st, USAID will officially cease to implement foreign assistance,” he declared in a State Department Substack post, adding that any future aid programs will only proceed through the State Department and must directly serve American strategic interests.

This announcement follows a March directive canceling approximately 83 percent of USAID’s ongoing projects—an estimated 5,200 out of 6,200 programs—following a six-week review initiated under an executive order signed by President Trump on January 20, 2025, which paused all foreign development assistance.

Founded in 1961 under President Kennedy, USAID has played a pivotal role in international development and humanitarian aid for over 60 years, including contributions to PEPFAR and malaria prevention.

However, critics—including former Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush—denounced the agency’s closure as a “colossal mistake” and a “tragedy,” warning it could destabilize global aid efforts and increase mortality in low-income countries.

A recent Lancet study projects that the interruption of U.S. foreign aid could lead to more than 14 million additional deaths by 2030, particularly affecting children under five and low‑income nations.

Humanitarian organizations, such as the International Rescue Committee, have reported program shutdowns impacting water, sanitation, and healthcare services, threatening educational access for thousands of girls and worsening health crises in parts of Africa and Asia.

Secretary Rubio defended the action as necessary to eliminate what the administration views as waste and to reorient aid to empower self-reliant countries, facilitate trade, and safeguard U.S. interests amid geopolitical competition with China.

Despite legal challenges from foreign service unions and criticism from advocacy groups, the reorganization continues. All USAID missions will now operate under the State Department, with only approximately 300 of the original 10,000 employees retained for mission-critical roles.

This marks a historic shift in U.S. foreign assistance policy—dissolving a standalone aid agency that once symbolized America’s global leadership and moral commitment, and integrating its responsibilities into the executive branch’s central foreign policy apparatus.

President Donald J. Trump, alongside Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, announced during a visit to “Alligator Alcatraz” in the Florida Everglades that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) are evaluating legal action against CNN.

The possible prosecution stems from CNN’s reporting on ICEBlock, an app that alerts users to nearby Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. Noem stated, “what they’re doing is actively encouraging people to avoid law enforcement activities… we believe is illegal,” and confirmed coordination with DOJ to pursue charges.

President Trump echoed support for the initiative, coupling it with criticism of CNN’s recent coverage of U.S. airstrikes in Iran. He asserted the reports were false and harmful, and “may very well be prosecuted” over those “totally false reports” regarding military operations.

[This post contains video, click to play]

What’s Next

The DOJ could launch a preliminary review to assess whether CNN’s reporting crosses legal boundaries, potentially escalating to a full investigation or special counsel appointment.

If such an inquiry advances, it could trigger constitutional challenges and public outrage over government intervention in independent journalism.

The episode marks a continuation of President Trump’s confrontational stance toward mainstream media, targeting outlets he deems “fake news” and potentially pursuing legal consequences for press coverage.

President Donald J. Trump has publicly directed the Department of Justice to evaluate whether former Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas should face arrest for allegedly facilitating an “invasion” of the United States through current border enforcement policies.

The president’s remarks came during a press question at a stop he made in Florida, referred to informally as “Alligator Alcatraz,” concerning his administration’s response to immigration.

When a reporter asked why Mayorkas had not been arrested already “for allowing an invasion” at the southern border, President Trump replied, “Well, I’d take a look at that one because what he did is beyond incompetent,” and then explicitly tasked Justice Department officials to investigate.

He said: “Why don’t you look into that, Kristi?”—addressing Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, who is present—suggesting DOJ should determine whether Mayorkas meets the criteria for criminal charges.

President Trump added that while Mayorkas “took orders from other people,” his policies still caused serious harm to national security and merited further scrutiny.

He referenced Mayorkas’s impeachment by the Senate in February 2024—the first for a Cabinet secretary in 150 years—citing allegations that he lied to Congress and implemented lax border policies that “allowed murderers and rapists” to enter the country.

[This post contains video, click to play]

Legal and Political Context

Legal Basis: Arresting a former Cabinet official would require substantial evidence that federal crimes were committed—such as knowingly allowing illegal entry—or false testimony under oath.

DoJ Protocol: The Justice Department operates independently. Any investigation would begin with a formal review or appointment of a special counsel, followed by potential indictments only if significant evidence emerged.

Political Ramifications: This development intensifies the ongoing conflict over federal immigration policy, particularly between President Trump’s “secure border” messaging and critics who argue the administration’s threats are politically motivated. It may also appear as an extension of Trump’s 2024 campaign against perceived softness on border control.

What Comes Next

The Department of Justice may open a preliminary investigation to determine whether there is credible evidence that Mayorkas broke federal law.

If sufficient evidence is found, the next steps could include the appointment of a special counsel, followed by subpoenas, grand jury proceedings, and possibly charges.

Opposition voices, including Democratic lawmakers and civil rights groups, are likely to criticize the initiative as a politically driven attack rather than a serious legal inquiry.

President Donald J. Trump has issued a strong warning against New York City mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani, stating that if Mamdani interferes with federal immigration enforcement, he could be arrested.

Speaking during a tour of a new immigrant detention facility in the Florida Everglades, President Trump sharply criticized Mamdani’s immigration policies, calling him a “communist” and “a total nut job.”

He added, “We don’t need a communist in this country, but if we have one, I’m going to be watching over him very carefully on behalf of the nation. If he gets in the way of ICE, we’ll have to arrest him.”

Zohran Mamdani, a 33-year-old state assemblyman and member of the Democratic Socialists of America, recently secured the Democratic nomination for mayor of New York City by defeating former Governor Andrew Cuomo through ranked-choice voting.

He has publicly pledged to block Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations in the city and declared that, under his administration, New York would not cooperate with federal immigration raids or deportation efforts.

President Trump’s remarks highlight an escalating clash between the federal government and sanctuary city policies. While local governments cannot legally obstruct ICE operations, they are not required to assist either.

The President also hinted at possible financial repercussions for the city, saying, “If he doesn’t behave, we’re cutting the money.”

The comments have drawn criticism from Democrats and civil liberties advocates, who argue that President Trump is using the power of the federal government to intimidate political rivals. Mamdani’s campaign responded by reaffirming its position on immigrant protections and denounced the threat of arrest as politically motivated.

Despite the controversy, the Trump administration has made it clear that it will not tolerate local interference with immigration enforcement.

As the 2025 mayoral race heats up, immigration policy and federal authority have become defining issues—not only for New York, but for the broader national debate under President Trump’s second term.

President Donald Trump has officially nominated attorney Alina Habba to serve a full four-year term as U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey, a move that is already generating political and legal controversy.

Habba, who previously served as Trump’s personal attorney and White House counsel, was appointed interim U.S. Attorney in March after the removal of John Giordano. The nomination now heads to the U.S. Senate, where it faces an uncertain path to confirmation.

Habba’s tenure as interim attorney has been marked by aggressive legal action, particularly against Democratic officials. In May, her office ordered the arrest of Newark Mayor Ras Baraka on a trespassing charge related to a protest outside a federal immigration facility. The charge was quickly dismissed by a federal judge, who criticized the arrest as hasty and unjustified. Shortly afterward, U.S. Representative LaMonica McIver was indicted for allegedly assaulting a federal officer at the same facility—a charge her supporters call politically motivated.

Critics, including Senate Democrats and legal ethics groups, have expressed concern about Habba’s lack of prosecutorial experience and the overtly political direction of her office. Habba, a civil attorney by background, has never worked as a federal prosecutor. Nonetheless, she has pursued high-profile investigations into crime and immigration issues in several New Jersey cities, aligning closely with Trump’s “law and order” agenda.

Supporters argue Habba is restoring accountability and rule of law in Democratic strongholds where, they claim, illegal immigration and corruption have been ignored.

“Alina Habba has shown bold leadership and isn’t afraid to take on powerful interests,” a senior Trump campaign adviser said Tuesday. “She’s exactly what New Jersey needs.”

However, Senate Democrats are signaling they may invoke the “blue-slip” tradition to block her confirmation. Under this practice, home-state senators can effectively veto a U.S. attorney nomination if they object, and both of New Jersey’s senators are Democrats.

If confirmed, Habba would become one of the most politically prominent U.S. Attorneys in the country, tasked with overseeing federal prosecutions in a state that has become a political flashpoint in the 2024 and 2025 elections.

President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have reportedly reached an agreement aimed at ending the war in Gaza within two weeks, according to multiple Israeli news outlets including Israel Hayom .

Under the proposed plan:

Four Arab countries—Egypt, the UAE, and two additional unnamed states—would take over governance of the Gaza Strip, replacing Hamas.

Hamas leaders would be exiled, and hostages currently held in Gaza would be released.

Saudi Arabia and Syria would follow suit by establishing diplomatic relations with Israel, expanding the Abraham Accords.

Israel would support a future two-state solution, conditional upon reforms within the Palestinian Authority, and Washington would recognize limited Israeli sovereignty in Judea and Samaria.

The agreement reportedly emerged after a high-level conference call involving Trump, Netanyahu, Senator Marco Rubio, and Israeli strategic affairs officials, held shortly after U.S. airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

While the plan offers a sweeping vision for regional peace—including the rapid expansion of the Abraham Accords and normalization with Syria and Saudi Arabia—experts caution it remains at the negotiation stage, requiring approval from the respective governments and regional stakeholders.

International reaction has been mixed. Arab League nations have proposed their own $53 billion reconstruction initiative, rejecting the displacement of Gaza’s population and advocating for Palestinian governance led by officials from the Palestinian Authority—not outside Arab governments.

Meanwhile, Trump has applied public and private pressure on Netanyahu to halt military operations in Gaza. He reportedly intervened to pause Israeli airstrikes that risked undermining the deal after Iran launched a missile strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

The emerging “peace framework” stands as one of the most ambitious diplomatic initiatives in years, but its implementation faces complex political hurdles—including regional acceptance, Hamas resistance, reconstruction funding, and Palestinian Authority reform.

President Donald Trump has called on Congress to shut down Voice of America (VOA), branding the U.S.-funded broadcaster as a “leftwing disaster” and urging that no Republican should support its continuation.

“Why would a Republican want Democrat ‘mouthpiece’ Voice of America (VOA) to continue? It’s a TOTAL, LEFTWING DISASTER — No Republican should vote for its survival. KILL IT!” Trump posted on Truth Social on June 26.

Trump’s statement follows sweeping cost-cutting measures led by Kari Lake, Trump’s senior adviser to the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM), which oversees VOA. Lake recently testified before the House Foreign Affairs Committee, describing the agency as “rotten to the core” and advocating for its dismantling or restructuring under the State Department.

Since March, the agency has eliminated approximately 85% of its workforce, terminating over 600 staffers within days—including layoffs of hundreds of VOA employees.

Kari Lake defended the restructuring by citing concerns over overspending, alleged political bias, and security vulnerabilities. She praised Trump’s executive order mandating the transformation of USAGM, stating major layoffs were required to “clean it up” .

However, Democratic lawmakers and media freedom advocates have strongly condemned the actions. Representative Madeleine Dean (D-PA) warned of weakened U.S. influence overseas and characterized the cuts as ideological censorship. Critics claim VOA is being targeted for its nonpartisan reporting, which has in the past included tough coverage of the Trump administration.

VOA has a historical mandate, established in 1942, to provide unbiased news to audiences in countries with limited press freedom, reaching millions in dozens of languages. Supporters argue the broadcaster remains a critical tool in countering authoritarian propaganda.

Lake, whose changes stem from a Trump executive order, also suggested merging VOA functions into the State Department and replacing many staff with freelance journalists.

Legal challenges are already underway. A federal judge blocked some of the initial layoffs, and lawsuits aim to restore USAGM’s funding and ensure editorial independence
