While speaking during a White House press briefing on Tuesday, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz responded to a reporter’s inquiry about the frequency of President Donald Trump’s medical evaluations.
“If the president is in such perfect health, why does he keep going back in for checkups?” the reporter asked.
“I think he likes the results. He does really well. He aces the test every single day. I do actually believe that he is curious to make sure everything is going in the right direction,” Dr. Oz responded.
“He’s a very meticulous person in so many ways that are often under appreciated. But for him to want to know all the numbers and keep on top of him, it’s the same reason he calls people at you know, odd hours because something’s on his mind. He wants to deal with it.”

Separately, the White House released a memorandum on May 30 that summarized the results of President Trump’s latest physical examination, which was conducted earlier that week at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
The report, which was prepared by White House physician Navy Captain Sean Barbabella, stated that the 79-year-old president “remains in excellent health, demonstrating strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical function.”
A notable detail in the three-page summary was the assessment of Trump’s cardiac health. An AI-enhanced electrocardiogram analysis estimated his cardiac age at approximately 14 years younger than his chronological age, placing it at that of a 65-year-old.
Cardiac age serves as a validated measure of cardiovascular vitality based on ECG data.
Supporting tests included a coronary CT angiography, which showed no arterial obstruction or structural abnormalities of the heart or major vessels. An echocardiogram confirmed normal cardiac chambers and valves, with preserved ejection fraction.
The cardiac examination revealed a regular rate and rhythm with normal heart sounds, and circulation to the extremities remained intact. Additional findings indicated normal laboratory results and vital statistics, including blood pressure of 105/71 mmHg, resting heart rate of 73 beats per minute, and pulse oximetry of 98 percent.
This examination follows prior evaluations during the current term, including an annual physical in April 2025 and a follow-up in October 2025. Such periodic assessments are standard for individuals in the presidency, given the position’s physical and mental demands.
The White House has maintained a practice of releasing summaries of these examinations to provide information on the president’s fitness for duty.
