Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt mocked recent Emmy winner Hannah Einbinder after she called on L.A. residents to “resist” Pratt’s campaign in a red carpet interview.
Einbinder, who recently gave a politically-charged speech after winning an Emmy for her work on HBO’s Hacks, addressed Pratt’s candidacy when asked about political dynamics in the city.
“There’s a lot of wealth in this city and I think that there are a lot of people who masquerade as Democrats or people on the left, but really, money is their key issue and that’s what leads them to vote for people like Spencer Pratt — who is endorsed by Donald Trump,” she said. “It’s important to resist that.”
The actress went on to express support for far-left candidate Nithya Raman, who is currently mounting a primary challenge against current Mayor Karen Bass.

Pratt, a former reality television personality from The Hills who lost his home in the 2025 Palisades Fire, is running as a candidate focused on issues such as public safety, homelessness, and city infrastructure failures. He responded directly on X shortly after the interview circulated.
“She says from a literal red carpet, surrounded by armed security, completely insulated from the horrors on our streets that Angelenos and their kids have to suffer through every day. I’m glad she doesn’t have to suffer the consequences of Karen and Nithya’s failures, but she’s in an elite minority and the rest of us want change,” Pratt responded sharply.
In his response, Pratt highlighted what he described as a disconnect between Einbinder’s position and the daily experiences of many Los Angeles residents. He pointed to her setting on a red carpet event with security presence as emblematic of an insulated perspective, contrasting it with broader concerns about street conditions, safety, and governance outcomes under current leadership, including Mayor Bass.
The exchange comes as Pratt has taken the race by storm and generated significant backing despite being a political outsider. He has placed a heavy emphasis on public safety, combating public drug use and rebuilding the city following the devastating Palisades fires.
Current polling reflects a tight race. One recent poll from the Los Angeles Times found Bass leading with 26 percent of the vote, while Raman trailed just behind with 25 percent. An additional 22 percent of respondents expressed support for Pratt.
